A couple of weeks ago my best friend and I took a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Town Mountain Road in Asheville up to Little Switzerland. I took my Fuji Instax Wide along for the trip and got some pretty good results.
The Fuji Instax film definitely loves to bring out the blues and greens.
One of my new years resolutions was to get 1 pack of impossible project film and shoot it. That has bloomed into my film obsession that you see before you now. This summer I have gotten into experimenting with “destroying” film. My first experiment was to take a roll of Fuji Superia X-Tra 400 film that expired in 2008 and soak it for 48 hours in a red wine / stacker energy drink mixture. After the film had soaked I let it dry in a bowl of rice for 2 weeks. The film was put in a Canon Sure Shot Telemax camera that I had gotten at a thrift store for 2 dollars. I didnt want to use one of my good cameras, in case this experiment was a disaster.
The results were very interesting and created a lot of different effects on the film. One of my favorites is this picture of my cat, Woodstock.
Another one of my favorites is this shot of the sky.
Some of the results werent as profound as the photos above, some werent nearly as noticeable, such as this photo below.
Then there is this neat photo of the Yugo on stilts at an old junk yard.
Some more of the results are below. Im going to create some other mixture to soak another roll in this week. So stay tuned, there will be more scientific / photography fun going on soon!
